1. Math Mates (Term 2 Sheet 1) or do Khan Academy. (Due Thursday)
2. Prepare your one minute presentation for next week. Look at the http://inspiremykids.com/ and choose an article that inspires you. Sum up (in your own words) what the article is about and why it is significant. (Due next Monday) 3. After today's Cyberbullying lesson with Miss Elif, go back to the headline you wrote last week. Do you think it should stay the same, or has your thinking changed? (Due Thursday) Today, we watched a very powerful video on cyberbullying, with Miss Elif. As a follow up to that video I would like you to work on a thinking routine called "Headlines" This routine draws on the idea of using a news headline to sum up and capture the essence of an event, idea or topic. The question you need to think about is, "If you were to write a headline on the issue of cyberbullying that captured the most important aspect that should be remembered, what would that headline be?" Post your headline in the comments section below. Here is Sienna's one minute presentation. She got a bit over excited and made a google slideshow as well so we thought we'd put it on the blog. Enjoy! Here are 2 Ted Talks you might like. The first is the talk by Salman Khan about Khan Academy, and the second is by a great guy called Sugra Mitra. Enjoy.
